Eight Tenths of a Mile

Typed out on the screen like that, it doesn’t seem like a long way. However, running it out on Coldwater Mountain Trail yesterday, felt like a very long way. .81 of a mile is an odd distance, but it is half the way around the first loop of the trail. I injured my shoulder about six months ago and was sidelined for about six weeks. It threw my endurance and strength in a tailspin.

So that eight tenths of a mile was a real milestone for me.

As I approach fifty years old, just knowing that I can reach this small milestone motivates me to surpass the levels I was at before my injury.

Just wanted to share my achievement…😁
